Furnishings designer and producer Michael Laerts has died on the age of 77.

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. — Michael Andrew Lorts, a furnishings designer and producer, died Nov. 26, 2024, at house. His age was 77 years.

Laerts was born Sept. 27, 1947, in Allegan, Mich., to Andy and Rosella Laerts. He was the proprietor of Lortes Manufacturing for a few years, designing and manufacturing furnishings, and he cherished going to furnishings markets, particularly Excessive Level, Las Vegas and Maison+Objet in Paris.

Laertes was preceded in loss of life by his mother and father and 5 sisters. He’s survived by his spouse Sylvia, two kids, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister and one brother.

Funeral companies will probably be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 31 at Church of the Beatitudes, 555 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix, Ariz.
